How to make money on Instagram Reels in Nigeria
By the Korareel team · Updated
Reels get huge reach in Nigeria, especially for comedy, fashion, food and music. But reach isn't income. This guide explains where Reels money actually comes from for Nigerian creators, and what you need for each.
Does Instagram pay Nigerian creators?
Partly. In mid-2024 Meta opened its creator money tools to Nigeria, including ads, subscriptions and bonuses on Facebook and Instagram. Which tools your own account can use depends on Meta's eligibility rules, your follower count and your account history, and they change from time to time.
To see what you qualify for, open your Professional dashboard in the Instagram app and look for Monetisation. If nothing shows yet, that doesn't stop you earning the other ways below.
The ways Reels creators earn in Nigeria
- Pay-per-view campaigns: brands pay for verified views on Reels you post of their content.
- Brand deals: businesses pay for a Reel about their product.
- Instagram's own tools: gifts, subscriptions or bonuses, if your account is eligible.
- Editing and content services: making Reels for businesses that don't have time.
Pay-per-view: no follower minimum
On a platform like Korareel, you pick a campaign, make a Reel from the brand's content and post it on your own account. You earn for every 1,000 verified views, for example ₦50,000 for 50,000 views at ₦1,000. Followers don't matter, only views. Work out your numbers with the earnings calculator.
Reels that reach more people
- Start on the most interesting moment; people decide in the first second or two.
- Keep it short, and cut every pause.
- Add captions. Lots of people scroll with the sound off.
- Post often, at the times your audience is online. Your Insights show when that is.
- Don't post videos with another app's watermark on them.
